This month, the University of South Carolina Concert Choir will travel to Derry to perform an exciting concert as part of their Irish Tour Program.
The concert, which takes place in the First Derry Presbyterian Church (Upper Magazine Street) on 20th May, is open to the public and admission is free.
The choir – directed by Dr. Larry Wyatt – will perform a program of Irish and American music. Irish composers are represented by works of Sir Charles Villiers Stanford and Michael McGlynn. American composers are represented by William Billings, Charles Ives, Mike D’Ambriosio, and USC MM composition major, Jesse Strickland – a member of the choir. The choir will also perform a diverse set of concert spiritual arrangements as well as an encore selection “Fixin” by USC composer, Dick Goodwin.
The concert begins at 7.00pm on 20th May.
