The NI Tourism Awards 2017 took place this year on 18th May at Enniskillen Castle in County Fermanagh.
The ceremony, which takes place every year, is organised by Tourism Northern Ireland and this years event was sponsored by DIAGEO. The annual black tie event, regarded as the highlight of the tourism calendar, recognised 37 of the industry’s most inspirational individuals, businesses and organisations and marked tourism’s success over the past year.
Visit Derry was nominated for the Customer Service Excellence Award which recognises the crucial role that staff play in making customers feel valued by providing them with the best customer care and quality experience. Although we didn’t win, we were delighted to be nominated. It was an honour to be commended for our efforts in Customer Service at this prestigious event and we congratulate this year’s winner: The Bushmills Inn Hotel & Restaurant.
We would also like to congratulate the local businesses (and Visit Derry members!) who took home an award on the night:
Browns Restaurant, Bonds Hill – winners of Best Food Tourism Experience
Bishop’s Gate Hotel – winners of Most Promising New Tourism Business and highly commended for Hotel of the Year
The Clark Restaurant at Ardtara Country House Hotel – highly commended for Best Food Tourism Experience
