As we approach the summer and the school holidays, the Millennium Forum launches its tenth anniversary of the Youth Festival, InterAct 2018. The festival takes place from Monday 2nd until Saturday 7th July. Bookings for all events are now open and places for all activities and workshops can be secured by contacting Siobhán Molloy, Education Officer at the Millennium Forum, by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
The theme of the Forum’s youth work is always one which promotes the Arts in exciting, inspiring, innovative, creative and fun ways. This year, the focus is on celebration and community cohesion as many, if not all, of the activities on offer are geared towards raising awareness about, and improving, mental (and physical) health and wellbeing. During the festival, young people will be provided with creative spaces where they can express themselves and highlight and discuss issues that affect them daily.
A wide range of creative activities and workshops are on offer, including: stage make-up, Musical Theatre, costume making, set design, creative writing, technical theatre, acting and dance. This year, there’s also a range of activities centred around issues on mindfulness, accessibility and ethnic minority.
Every activity is FREE to all young people from all backgrounds, aged 12-21 years. This Festival is created by young people for young people and the Forum is proud to offer access to the best arts facilitation that this city, and region, has to offer. The plethora of activities will culminate in a very special showcase on Saturday 7th July 2018 in the Millennium Forum, where the building will be shining with the stars from the week’s workshops as well as their friends, families and special guests. The final showcase will take place at the Millennium Forum from 4pm-7pm and is a ticketed event, costing just £3.00 per ticket. Tickets for this can be purchased from the Box Office or online.
The Forum’s InterAct Festival is the only youth arts festival in the North West region that is FREE to all participating young people. Previous years have always booked out within days of opening, so it is strongly advised that workshops and events are booked in advance, in order to avoid disappointment.
